Join us for our second annual fundraising gala to support the Caldwell Public Library's Endowment Fund. Adventure Begins at the Library Open House Event April 23, 2024 6pm-8pm Our open house is a new event intended to highlight all the great resources currently available at the library and showcase upcoming projects. There will be a prize drawing, sweet treats, and various stations highlighting library resources. While the event is open to all and free to attend, RSVPs are required, walk ins will NOT be permitted. To RSVP please send an email to cceja@cityofcaldwell.org . Please be sure to RSVP by Friday, April 19, 2024. Please note, the library and all services will be technically closed for the event. About the event Library Stations At the event, we will have “passports” with each library station on it. Every time you visit a new station you will receive a stamp. Prize Drawing We will have a prize drawing. To be entered into the prize drawing please complete the library survey . For an additional entry, please bring an item for our community pantry . Currently the pantry needs granola bars, tuna packets, peanut butter, and canned meat. Sweet Treats Enjoy sweet treats while you are learning about library resources and meeting the team! As you enter the event you will receive a ticket to redeem your treat. Scan QR code to be directed to survey.

Strategic Plan Caldwell Public Library Strategic Plan 2022-2025 Download a Copy Mission Statement The Caldwell Public Library provides services and information to connect, enrich, and inspire our community. Goals 1. Strengthen the library’s financial sustainability. a. Establish a Caldwell Public Library Foundation and conduct a long-term fundraising campaign for ongoing program and service needs. (September 2025) b. Create a diversified funding strategy by identifying new philanthropic partnerships, sponsorships, and revenue enhancement opportunities. (Ongoing) c. Increase awareness of the Caldwell Public Library Endowment Fund and conduct long-term fundraising to support the Endowment. (Ongoing) 2. Enhance the library’s community engagement efforts. a. Develop and implement a targeted community outreach and marketing strategy to increase community awareness of the range of services and programs the library provides. (September 2023) b. Expand collections to reflect the needs of all community members including seniors and Spanish speakers. (Ongoing) c. Broaden our physical reach within the community by implementing two 24-hour library access points. (September 2023) d. Improve outreach to the underserved areas of the city and improve communication with patrons living in area. (Ongoing) e. Create a full-time youth services outreach librarian position. (September 2022) 3. Expand the library’s marketing activities to reach a broader audience in the community and increase library users. a. Develop and implement an official Marketing and Social Media Plan that focuses on promoting non-traditional library services, new offerings, and programs. (September 2022) b. Review brand manual and create opportunities for all staff members to learn about the library’s brand and how to promote in a consistent and effective manner. (Ongoing) c. Collect and share community impact stories to strengthen support for library services. (Ongoing) d. Create a full-time communications specialist position. (September 2022) 4. Meet community demand for technology resources and skills development. a. Upgrade vital network infrastructure to provide a more manageable, stable, and fast network and internet connectivity. (September 2023) b. Implement a Technology Plan that supports our strategic priorities to meet the changing needs of our patrons. (September 2022) c. Provide patrons with access to a variety of technologies and classes that support job seekers, business development, and enhance connectivity for seniors, lower-income residents, and families. Free Public WiFi The Caldwell Public Library provides wireless internet access for free to the public for use inside the library and from the parking lot. Before connecting to the Library’s network please first review the rules of conduct for computer and network usage and internet safety policy . Rules of Conduct for Computer and Network Use All computer and/or network users are expected to use electronic, computer, and network resources in a responsible manner. Users will also be expected to comply with the following rules: Not making changes to the setup or configuration of any library software or hardware. Not attempting to bypass network restrictions Not exceeding time limits established by library departments. Not sending, receiving, or displaying text or graphics which may reasonably be construed by library staff as creating a hostile, offensive, or disruptive environment. Respecting the privacy of others using public access computer stations by not interfering with their use. Loaning and/or borrowing a card for internet access is not allowed. Any behavior which is disruptive or which hinders the use of public computer stations by others is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to boisterous behavior, verbal or physical harassment, drunkenness, and congregating in large groups.

Meeting Rooms Call us or email infolibrary@cityofcaldwell.org for meeting room availability. All reservations are subject to our Meeting Room Policy . Dean E. Miller Community Room The Dean E. Miller Community Room capacity is 100 people. It contains a 98" 4K Ultra High Definition digital display with an HDMI connection and casting capabilities. The room also has a TV, Blu-ray Player, and Kitchenette. Idaho Room The Idaho Room is available only during the library's open hours. It has two conference tables with a mounted electrical outlet in between them. The room seats 15. Food and drink are not permitted. BOOK A ROOM

Apply online to get your library card! This application will get you started, stop in to the library to finish up and get your physical card. Get a Library Card The Caldwell Public Library serves residents of the city of Caldwell. Caldwell residents and those owning property within Caldwell city limits, qualify for a borrower card. How to Apply In Person Visit the Caldwell Public Library. Bring your Photo ID and proof of residence to the circulation desk. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian will need to be present to sign the application and show photo ID and proof of residence. Acceptable Documents - Proof of Residence Mail received at residence within the last 30 days Electronic form of utility bill from the last 30 days Signed rental or lease agreement from the last 30 days Proof of auto insurance Valid Idaho driver’s license or ID card, issued within the last year Tax assessment notice Postcard sent by the library to the patron’s physical address Nonresidents Those residing outside Caldwell city limits may purchase library services with an annual fee. Annual nonresident card: $50.00 Six month nonresident card: $25.00 Annual senior nonresident card: $25.00 Six month senior nonresident card: $12.50 *prices include tax Renewing Your Library Card Your library card expires one year after it was issued, or one year after your last renewal. Accounts that have been expired for more than 3 years will be removed from our system, and a new library card application will be required to resume services. Need to renew your card? Here are your options: In Person: Bring your photo ID to the front desk at the library to renew your card. If the address on your account has changed, you will also need to provide new proof of address. Over the Phone: If the address on your account has not changed, you are able to renew your card over the phone. Give us a call at 208-459-3242 to renew your card. We are unable to take payments for non-resident card renewals over the phone, but you can opt to pay for your card through your online account. Replacing a Lost Card If your card is lost or stolen, notify the library immediately. For more information, please contact the circulation desk at 208.459.3242.
